Adrian’s Undead Diary
A Darkly Funny Zombie Apocalypse
Dark Recollections
September 21, 2010 – December 1, 2010
Beheading a zombie isn’t easy in a world where you’re more afraid of the living than the dead.
Adrian Ring’s simple life is thrown into chaos when the world is ripped apart by a plague of undead and scores of desperate survivors. Retreating to Auburn Lake Preparatory Academy, Adrian attempts to rescue friends and family on the way while dancing around his impending insanity over who and what he left behind, and evading maniac survivors.
He saves his cat Otis, but shoots his mom.
Pretty successful, all things considered.
Alone No More
December 3, 2010 – December 27, 2010
Realizing you have a surviving neighbor after the world is overtaken by the undead isn’t always a good thing.
Unless that neighbor is the grumpy, armed and retired Green Beret Gilbert Donohue. In that case, finding out you’ve got a neighbor is a lot like hitting the proverbial jackpot. Adrian’s piecemeal life on campus since “That Day” has been a struggle. Retrieving supplies from local neighborhoods filled with the walking dead has been dangerous for him, but he’s stayed alive by being a little smarter than the other survivors, and a lot faster than the roaming, hungry zombies that have overtaken his home town, and the world.

It’s a great read for anyone. The stories are well written, characters build carefully and every detail is covered. People, this is what a great book looks like! Stop reading this review and start reading the book! -Frank D of zombie-guide.com
I don’t even think one needs to be a fan of zombie fiction to end up a fan of AUD; because Chris’s talent can’t be pigeonholed into one limited, literary genre. His true talent lies in weaving an enduring, sweeping story that does exactly what it’s supposed to do… pulls you in, engrosses you, evokes emotion, and leaves you satisfied (if not a little bit sad) when it’s over. In the case of AUD, for me, the zombies are just a bonus! -Wendi Haegle
Tap tap tap went the zombie on the bridge.
Things are getting stranger and stranger for Adrian Ring, and far more dangerous. It wasn’t enough for the people of Westfield to follow Abby and her family home on Christmas Eve and try to kill them. Now they’re back for more.
The Failed Coward
March 5, 2011 – April 29, 2011
A sinister darkness has finally cast its long shadow across the world, and Adrian Ring now suspects he’s at the center of the maelstrom. And he’s not alone. Even overseas, his friend Kevin is somehow standing at his side.
At Auburn Lake, Adrian and his adopted family finally understand that the dreams they have suffered since the end of the world are far more than restless imaginings. When a thousand mindless dead arrive holding books, can it be anything but a message from beyond the grave? Soon they will learn that what the dead say can be far worse than what the dead have done.
In The Failed Coward, the fourth installment in the epic Adrian’s Undead Diary series, Adrian realizes the scope of humanity’s struggle, and just what’s at stake. Despite all the dangers posed by the world around him, Adrian pushes out more aggressively, reclaiming more and more territory from the clutches of the treasonous survivors and the walking dead.
Adrian’s world is also expanded with more short stories. New questions are raised, and new characters introduced. And they will need all the help they can get to stay alive.
In the end, everyone may need Adrian’s help.
Wrath
May 1, 2011 – June 23, 2011
Good and evil play their game to determine whether humanity gets a second chance, and their pawns are the living and the dead.
ALPA and Westfield have formed a strong alliance that keeps both settlements safe and growing. Adrian has even found time to discover a new love with Mallory. All is well.
But when evil plays the game, it plays for keeps. The greatest move of all will use a piece very close to Adrian.
When Adrian is betrayed by someone he loves, the whole world may suffer the consequences of his wrath.
In the Arms of Family
June 23, 2011 – August 30, 2011
Adrian Ring and evil don’t get along.
When he can’t be corrupted, turned, or forced to give up, evil will target those around him, including the family he had thought was dead.
In book six of Adrian’s Undead Diary, no one near Adrian is safe. Many will make the ultimate sacrifice to ensure that he can keep his loved ones protected at any cost, and rebuild a new, better world.
In the Arms of Family also follows Kevin and Michelle as their stories entwine and bring them ever closer to the horrors that surround Adrian across the vast Atlantic Ocean.
How long can they survive before the dead finish what they came to do?

Kevin and Michelle, his unwitting compatriots in the scheme to save the world, are following signs and portents to make their way to a hero they don’t yet know. Cassie
December 24, 2011 – March 19, 2012
One last test.
One last quest.

The Dealer of Hope
September 21, 2013 – November 30, 2013
Adrian forgave himself. The undead have been banished and he’s accepted the love of friends, family, and some strangers. He’s started a better life.
Bastion grows day after day as pilgrims come to put down roots near the vaunted Trinity. Crops are growing, babies are being born, supplies are being salvaged, restful dreams are being had, and there’s even talk that the government is surfacing to reform.
All his problems should be getting better now, right?
But some battles start after the last shot is fired.
They call themselves The Northern Valley Cooperative.
Adrian’s known about them for years. Always on his fringe, never in his face, they built a fortress out of a ski resort, and brought everyone near them to heel. And now, with winter bearing down on Adrian’s world, the NVC is marching south.
Are they friends, or are they foes?
Either way, Adrian’s got a loaded gun on his hip, and he’s surrounded by people he’d die for.
He just might.
The Last Resort
December 3, 2013 – June 7, 2014
The zombies have been banished for almost a year now, and Adrian Ring’s greatest threats are starvation, and strangers.
He can feed both problems away, but a full belly doesn’t always lead to trust.
With the Northern Valley Cooperative shored up as allies, the future looks bright for Adrian and his family at Bastion. They’ve added tanks, machine guns, a helicopter, and a hundred trained National Guardsman to their assets on hand.
But why is Adrian so uneasy?
Why are the refuges from overseas coming in such large droves? Why are they so hungry, and afraid? Why are they so happy to find the Trinity on foreign shores?
Because they left the scourge behind.
At least, they thought they left it behind.
Humanity’s plague returns, and when it does, alliances old and new are put to the test, and the world is upended yet again.
No God
July 4, 2014 – September 3, 2014
Adrian Ring is broken. He was wounded badly, and with dead loved ones on all sides, he makes a bold, life-changing decision; he’s leaving Bastion and its people to help the unknown second Trinity in Europe, where a terrible strain of faster, smarter undead still rampage in the streets.
Clinging to what’s left of his tattered soul, he must assemble a small team to bring across the Atlantic aboard one of the few still-operational US Navy frigates. There, he is reunited with his lost brother William.
The battle ahead is ominous enough, but the journey might kill him before he sets foot on European soil. He must battle the wills of those who will be left behind at Bastion, The Factory, Spring Meadows and MGR, plus ensure a proper transition of power.
He must wage a war of wills against a rag-tag Navy crew who sees him as a self-proclaimed savior, and against a captain who is at odd with his risk-taking, bold nature.
The zombies might be the least of his problems.
Dead Cities
September 9, 2014 – November 27, 2014
Shoreham Port in Brighton England has been secured by Adrian Ring alongside his friends, with the five Navy ships that made the trans-Atlantic voyage to find the European Trinity. He must find the Soul, the Scribe, and the Warden and get them on their path, as he walked his, but there are obstacles.
The undead in Europe are faster and stronger than anything they’ve encountered, and the survivors here are hungry, and desperate for help. They can’t fight every zombie, but each one they pass could be a lethal threat to their own people, or to the locals who’ve fought hard to survive.
Luckily, he encounters a small, well-armed group of car-equipped survivors, led by a friendly man calling himself Chief, who dwarfs even the burly Adrian. They decide to work together to procure ground vehicles for the march north.
But Chief isn’t the savior he’s pretended to be, and there are far more monsters roaming in the dark of the old world than Adrian is prepared to face.
Ghosts
November 28, 2014 – January 1, 2015
A weary Adrian Ring continues his dangerous push to find the missing members of the mythical second Trinity—saviors of mankind from the judgment of the undead. He’s fought those monsters for years now, facing off against unthinkable threats and challenges to his own safety, and sanity, and thus far, he’s prevailed. Others around him haven’t been so lucky, but that seems to be his curse.
Now, as he and his precious friends foray north into the heart of England to find Hal Parker’s dad, and search for survivors, they will encounter threats they’ve never dealt with before.
And worse yet, while they battle against faster, and smarter armies of the dead, and the wraiths of evil that now walk amongst them, a greater threat slips through the cracks, and joins them.
There will be death. There will be destruction. The darkness will shun out hope as it nears a final victory.
And yet Adrian will meet a new light, Erin Locke—a beacon in the darkness—and his encounter with her will change him for the better, and alter the course of humanity’s grim fate.

Wracked with grief over the death of his brother, they make their way through the winter snow until they are bogged down, eventually taking up residence in a secluded farm.
But not far away there’s a enclave of survivors, and while everything seems fine on the surface… they might have ulterior motives for their alliance. They might want to stop Adrian, or they might want to ferret out the demon hiding in his midst.
Either way, this apocalyptic adventure will see evil unleashed in a way never seen before.

Right in Tim’s town, in fact.
So when he takes Julie and Lucas up into the air for their first hot air balloon ride, before the news reports start, and before the car accidents and looting begins, he has no idea just how crazy the ride will be. After all, Lucas was just bitten by a “crazy heroin addict.”
