New releases & inner musings
We got a pre-order!
Yup, we got a pre-order up.
//
Nightmares are usually kept to dark nights, and deep slumber, but that just isn’t so anymore.
Rachel’s inner evil–an actual monster within–is set free when she sleeps, and if Adrian wants any chance at figuring out the salvation of Europe they first must contain the entity Rachel harbors. But you just can’t put her down like a zombie. What if that sets the evil free?
But keeping her around, and muting that monster gives Evil a beacon to follow, and makes the annihilation of life with the massed hordes of the undead all the easier.
It’s never simple, is it?
But saving a condemned world shouldn’t be easy. Not if we want a second chance to do it all better.
Can Adrian stay sane, keep his friends safe, and trek across Germany to find more survivors, and maybe–just maybe–his lost brother Tommy?
Not if Evil has a say, and Evil is speaking up louder and louder with every mile they cross.

Kindle is slated for release on December 9th, and the audio is being recorded as I write this, on-track to drop on or about the same date on Audible. Paperback should be about the same timeline as well.
Click the photo above to go straight to Amazon, or you can click here.
This was a challenging one to write due to life being crazy hectic this year, but I must admit… it’s a really fun, wild ride for Adrian and company. I hope you all love it.
AUD 15 – OUR EVIL DEAD – cover reveal
Synopsis and release date to follow.
Colony of Lies is heading to Audio!
It’s official; friend, author and voice man extraordinaire Steve Van Samson is going to narrate the Colony Lost sequel novella for Audible and iTunes.
Steve’s a fantastic writer as well as the host of the Retro Ridoctopus podcast, and having him take the series over feels like a great choice for the Ghara universe.
He’ll be recording soon enough and once we have a better idea on a release date, I’ll give details. In the meantime… here’s the blurb:
//
The First Expeditionary Marines of the Colonies of Ghara scratched out a foothold on the wild planet of Selva five years ago, with only a tenth of the expedition surviving the onslaught of monsters the planet offered.
Having destroyed the entire colony of mutating, horrifying insects, husband and wife pair of Master Sergeant Dustin Cline, and Captain Melody Cline have their son on the world, as do hundreds of other colonists, safe on islands, or at the top of massive trees that evolved to repel the spitter bugs. They’re trying to build new lives on a new world.
Mines have been built, and trains now run between the few major settlements.
But sedition grows. Miners forced to work long hours for unfair wages in dangerous conditions are striking out in rebellion, declaring themselves free from the yoke of the government that sent out the expedition.
But why now? Why would regular colonists see sense in fighting against the populations of four moons, protected by thousands of trained marines on a planet filled with monsters lurking in the dark jungles in every direction?
Because those same miners have uncovered something buried deep. Something terrible.
Something worse than the fear of authority, and if they don’t act fast, they’ll lose any chance at freedom they would ever have.
Dustin Cline and his rebuilt fire team are sent out to the mine at New Falun to discover just what exactly is going on, and what they find will change the future of humanity.
Rebellion is the least of Dustin and Melody’s problems.
If you’re interested in starting the story of the Ghara Chronicles, you’ll want to grab Colony Lost, and soak in the story of the first colonists landing on Selva, and the chaos that ensued. https://amzn.to/3ACjPs0
Giant Kindle sale this week!
Welcome to the mass giveaway week!
I haven’t run many free promos on my eBooks yet this year, and seeing that it’s already July, that’s a problem. So, in one fell summer swoop, I’ve dropped the price of four books down to ZERO DOLLARS on the Kindle. Also, later this week, I’ve got the 2nd AUD Omnibus on sale as well, so the people who dig the first can grab the second at a deal.
To help make shopping easier, here are four direct Amazon links to the titles set to free until the 13th:
Tesser: A Dragon Among Us, Book One of The Reemergence (Urban Fantasy)
The Adrian’s Undead Diary Omnibus, Volume One (Zompoc)
The Wrath of the Orphans, Book One of the Kinless Trilogy (Apocalyptic Dark Fantasy)
The Awakening, The Darkness of Diggory Finch Book One (Lovecraftian horror/urban fantasy)
And if you want to bookmark the 2nd AUD Omnibus, here’s a link for that sale later this week.
Spread the word, nab a book you’ve been holding out on, leave a review, and as always, THANK YOU!
-Chris
Feel like saying hi at a cool New England horror con?
July 13th and 14th I’ll be in attendance at MonstaXpo in scenic Nashua NH, my OG hometown. Right on the border with Massachusetts, this is my first ever appearance at a show at home, so I’m hoping to see some old friends, and make some new ones as well.
Tickets are available directly through the con’s website: https://monstahxpos.com/
The hotel (as you can see) looks like a castle, and it’s a pretty dang neat place for a show. I expect a great turnout for a mid0summer horror show in New England, so if you were interested in coming to say hi and maybe perusing the aisles for more creators and celebrities, this’ll be a fun opportunity.
Hope to see you there!

New comic book Kickstarter!
For those of you following me through the process of slowly dipping my toes into the waters of the comic book industry, I’ve got another book live on Kickstarter that I worked on.
Bad Wabbit #2: When Pigs Fly is being published by Dead Man Walking Comics. Written by Anthony Castro, edited by me, and illustrated by Tommy Gunz, it’s already two thirds to the finish, and needs some extra word of mouth and backers to hit it’s goal to fund.
If you read and enjoyed book one and want to continue, now’s the time. If you didn’t read book one, you can grab it on this KS too, and fully enjoy the story.
Comic signing this Saturday!
As the image above says, I’ll be at Double Midnight Comics in Manchester NH this coming Saturday at 11am.
I’m celebrating the release of Bad Wabbit #1: FRIENDS, which I helped create for Dead Man Walking Comics, and writer Anthony Castro. All the copies I have on-hand have already been signed by Anthony, and I’ll be signing them as well for New Hampshire fans and comic readers.
I’ll also have a nice selection of my novel swag too, so come say hi and celebrate with us at Double Midnight!
Who wants a three book omnibus?
It’s a smidge earlier than we guessed, but that’s a good thing.
Audible just released the Audiobook version of the Lockey vs the Apocalypse Omnibus!
That’s 33+ total hours of UK based zombie destruction at the hands of three of the most amazing characters ever to grace the genre: Lockey, Nate, and Particles the pug. Can’t say enough good things about Carl Meadow’s writing, and Danielle Cohen’s editing. I mean hell, the first book won awards for how good it is.
That’s all for one credit too, y’all.
If you want in, click the picture, tell a friend, harass an enemy, etc.
We made the Austin television!
So here we are sitting in Austin Texas, the day after two consecutive days of comic book signings, and we’re exhausted, and super happy.
Anthony sold dozens of copies of Bad Wabbit #1, and we had a great turnout. Dozens of my fans came to support not only me, but him too, and for that, I’m grateful.
On Sunday, when we were at Titan Moon Comics, Fox 7 of Austin came out and shot a segment to cover Anthony and his story. It’s a great story, and while they were there, they took a bunch of film of the both of us.
So, officially, I can say I was on television now.
Congrats to Anthony!

Austin Texas this weekend!
I wanted to take a minute and remind everyone that I’m going to be in Austin Texas this weekend to celebrate the release of Dead Man Walking Comic’s first title Bad Wabbit, which I edited.
You can hang out with us (and buy signed merch of mine, and for the comic) at Dragon’s Lair Austin on Saturday the 7th, 12 to 2pm, or at Titan Moon Comics on Sunday the 8th, 12 to 4pm.
We’re setting up some kind of dinner/drinks meet & greet on the Saturday at least, so keep your eyes peeled on my social media if you’re interested in coming to meet.
Bring your stuff, I’ll happily sign anything, and if you need stuff, I’ll have a little bit on hand to sell. (PLUS THE COMICS!)
-Chris
Come say hi in Austin Texas!
To celebrate the release of the Bad Wabbit comic book that I edited, I’m heading down to Austin Texas in early October to sign all the Kickstarter copies alongside writer/creator Anthony Castro.
We’re going to hold court at two signings in the Austin area, and if you’d like to swing by to grab a comic, grab a book or some swag, or have me sign stuff you already own, here are some details:
Saturday October 7th: The Dragon’s Lair Noon to 2pm, 2438 W. Anderson Lane, Suite B-1, Austin, Texas
Sunday October 8th: Titan Moon Comics Noon to whenever, 1540 Cypress Creek Rd, Suite 108, Cedar Park, Texas
I will have limited inventory at both signings, so if you want something for certain, order it online now to have in hand, or message me so I try to bring whatever you need just for you. (if I can)
We’re also looking at hitting up a restaurant for drinks and some grub on the Saturday, and I’ll post details on that as soon as I remember what they are. 🙂
Hope to see a slew of you there!

Fun little interview with ManyBooks.net
Happy birthday to me!
Manybooks.net dropped a little interview today after I put Tesser on sale this week for the Kindle.
Enjoy!
Updates! Swag, comics, Diggory, signings!
Fulfillment is complete!
All physical rewards have been sent out. There are just a couple lingering rewards that need to be finished up (online RPG, exclusive short story, one live chat) but otherwise we are wrapped.
I’ve released the KS swag to the public for non-backers. Books are semi-sold out at the moment, but plenty of the coins, bookmarks, stickers and posters are available. If you want something, reply to this email to let me know what you want.
- Posters: $21 shipped in the US
- Challenge coins: $31 shipped in the US
- Sticker and bookmark $10 shipped anywhere in the world
I’ll have news on more books freeing up in the next few days once I’m sure everyone got their stuff.
I am still going to Austin Texas the first weekend of October to sign comics and books with Anthony Castro of Dead Man Walking Comics.
Right now we’ve got two appearances/signings set up:
- On October 7th we’ll be at Dragons Lair: Comics and Fantasy
- On October 8th we’ll be at Titan Moon Comics
There is no admission price, just come on in and say hi. We’ll be signing the comics right there in person, and you’re welcome to bring anything of mine you want signed, and I’ll slap some Sharpie on that bitch. I’m not sure what the merch situation will be beyond the comics, but I’ll sort that out.
So, if you live anywhere near Austin Texas, come say hi in October. If you’d like to order your comic ahead of time for me to sign, grab it here on DMW’s website.
I slapped a pretty interesting poll up on Facebook yesterday to gauge interest in me co-writing erotica set in my universes. I was approached by a succesful writer in that genre who is a fan, and people have been asking me to consider for years now. If you haven’t put your .02 cents in yet, here’s a link to the anonymous Google poll. You can also reply to this message, and I’ll keep whatever you say private.
I know erotica sounds like a weird pivot, but with a co-writer it’s much easier, and there’s some demand, AND, that’s a MASSIVE market that might really boost my writing income. So we’ll see what happens.
Again, Patreon is fully updated with the complete RockJockeys comic book script now, and the first chapters/interludes of Diggory Finch #3: The Legacy, are going up two or three a week. Progress on that book (while delayed due to the Kickstarter, and the kids being home during summer) is going great, and I’m plugging along. Cover Villain is on the job for the cover, and Alan is in the on-deck circle waiting to format it.
In personal news, our van died. We bought a 2010 Toyota Sienna the week our 2nd was born because we needed the space, and she gave us five and a half good years. Minimal repairs, and when we finally got the mechanic’s assessment on what would be needed in the next couple years, it made sense to buy something. The car market is bananas right now, just like the housing market, so we ate buying a new car. In related news, I am now selling blood and semen if anyone wants any.
Also, I’ve got Tesser: A Dragon Among Us set to free on the Kindle next week to celebrate my birthday. I’ll share some links around when it goes on sale. Please consider sharing the book, or picking it up if you haven’t given my Urban Fantasy series a look yet.
As always, hugs and kisses.
-Chris
Saturday the 26th – live show!
Hey people!
Tomorrow, the 26th of August I’m a guest over on The Book Asylum podcast/vidcast at 2pm eastern standard time.
The crew there is always a fun chat, and I’m sure it’ll get weird. Tune in over on Facebook!
Behind the scenes story on the new covers.
Straight from Cover Villain himself.
He explains the how’s and why’s of the design we went with, and his process for making it happen. Great behind the scenes look at how much thought and work go into creating books.
Want a custom video by me?
I find tremendous humor in the fact that Cameo just approved me to be a “talent,” on their app.
That means you can go to my Cameo page, and book me to record you a short video. It’s only $20, and could be a great gift for a loved one, or just to hear me say something strange.
NH Book signing tomorrow!
Hey everyone!
On the heels of the Kickstarter funding, and all the product for that coming in to get signed and sent out to backers, and with The Lost & the Found now released on all formats, it’s time for me to go out into the wild and pretend to be a socially capable human.
Tomorrow from 10am to 2pm, I’ll be at Fuller Public Library in Hillsboro NH (between Concord and Keene). Multiple other authors will be on-site with their titles, so you won’t just be supporting me, you’d be supporting multiple other creators sharing their vision.
Please come say hi, or send a willing sacrifice.
The Lost & the Found has released on Audible!
Book 14 is now available on Audible, and will be available on iTunes shortly.
The zombie apocalypse wreaks its wrath on Adrian and his friends, as he scrambles to assemble the missing Trinity of saviors.
Adrian Ring and his inner circle of survivors heads south through the German ruins after the Navy frigate he and his friends sailed on is eaten alive inside out by an infestation of the dead. Wracked with grief over the death of his brother, they make their way through the winter snow until they are bogged down, eventually taking up residence in a secluded farm.
But not far away there’s an enclave of survivors, and while everything seems fine on the surface…they might have ulterior motives for their alliance. They might want to stop Adrian, or they might want to ferret out the demon hiding in his midst.
Either way, this apocalyptic adventure will see evil unleashed in a way never seen before.
The Lost & the Found contains Adrian’s journal entries from January 4, 2015 through March 2, 2015. It also contains the short stories “Meow”, “Bitch”, as well as “Tactical Septic Tank”, “The Peacemaker”, “Vulnerable”, and “Only Bad Choices.”
Click here, or on the picture above to head to Amazon..
Last call for hardcover action.
Yeah, you read that right. Hardcover ACTION.
We’ve done almost all that’s possible, and we have until tomorrow morning (Wednesday the 31st @10am) to get the last stretch goal in the bag.
You’ve unlocked bookmarks, Mr. Journal stickers, AUD posters, Adrian Ring challenge coins, all eight core books in hardcover, .stl files, free books to libraries and so much more. I couldn’t be more thankful or thrilled.
If any of you wanted any of the Kickstarter-exclusive goodies, now is the time to do it. Once it ends, it ends, and the exclusives go buh-bye.
Big love to all the backers, and to all those who spread the word during this crazy May campaign. Who says zombies is played out?
-Chris
Two signings and meets & greets!
Meet & Greets? Meat & greets? Meats & greets?
Not sure on that one, don’t care enough to sort it out.
Two public appearances on the docket for this summer so far:
Saturday June 17th at 10am I’ll be at Fuller Public Library in downtown Hillsboro NH for their NH author event. We’re hoping to have tables and tents on their huge lawn, but can pivot inside to their amazing historic building if need be. It’s free, it should be fun.
Also, I’m dragging DJ Leone (aka Dan Lewis) out into public to meet his adoring (tolerating) fans. We’re going to hold court at Double Midnight Comics in Manchester NH on Saturday July 22nd from noon to close, which is about 8pm. I’ll have tons of cool swag on hand, and I’m buying pizza for everyone at dinnertime. I made a Facebook event if you want to chat about it.
So, if you were thinking of coming to scenic New England this summer, let this be a pair of events that can entice you!
-Chris
I mean… in 73 minutes? Y’all are crazy.
As I write this, the Kickstarter for the hardcovers and dice is just a few minutes over two hours old, and it’s fully funded, and about a hundred bucks away from unlocking the second stretch goal.
I cannot believe this level of support, and I am so, so thankful. One more smidge of proof that the zombie genre is still alive, and can bring great content to the masses.
If you haven’t pledged yet, click the picture to be brought to the project. Several limited tier levels are still available.
