The Phone
The invaders came down to Earth in their ships, and multi-legged battle armor and we had no way to stop them from taking the water. Made sense. They looked like massive crabs, after all. The war was over in days. Now, those left behind eke out a parched existence in the scorched rubble, avoiding the hunter-killer teams of crabs as they scour Earth for whatever they deem valuable.
Sixteen year old Yasmine Whitten is an expert at navigating the wastes; born into this world, she not only survives; she thrives. But she’s got a secret; her mother’s old cell phone. Kept intact for 13 years of alien invasion, and kept charged by a tiny solar panel, these two relics of a dead-world give her sanity, and a host of tools that allow her to stay ahead of the scavengers, both human and crab alike. It’s a flashlight and a camera, and when she can’t sleep, she can comfort herself in the cold desert by looking at pictures of her mother and father, and by reading their old text messages to one another. She’s doing well enough, for a teenager on her own in a ravaged world. Until the phone rings.
The Nexus
The phone rang, and Yasmine answered it, sending her into the ruins of the city to find a young man and rescue him from the Monoliths, a ruthless gang that had taken him prisoner.
But it wasn’t quite what she expected.
The Monoliths weren’t ruthless, they were good people, led by an uncle she never knew she had, and Trey, the young man who reached out to her on her mother’s phone wasn’t even a man at all. He was an alien, and worse yet, one of the crabs that took all the water, and destroyed Earth.
But alliances were made, friendships forged, and now, in the wake of their victory against the crabs in Shantytown, Yasmine and her uncle The Baron are going on a journey no human has ever undertaken; They are heading to The Nexus, the center of all galactic civilization, and the one place they can find help to take Earth’s water back.
But that’ll mean war.
Interstellar war.
Yasmine’s war.
Colony Lost
Seven hundred fifty years ago, human colonists left Earth and settled on the moons of the distant gas giant Ghara. Civilization has flourished on Ghara’s fertile moons, but humanity’s drive to colonize and explore is still strong. Detecting plentiful mineral resources and a rich abundance of alien life on the nearby planet of Selva, the Gharian Colonists mount a dangerous expedition.
Young newlywed marines Dustin and Melody will find themselves put to the ultimate test as they forge a way through fierce magnetic storms into an unknown and utterly alien world. As they risk life and limb, tensions mount at home, as not all of the colonists support this mission and its high cost of resources. Many are outright hostile towards the Marines and scientists who are setting out to colonize the new world.
As the peace the four colonies have shared for almost 200 years starts to fracture, what the expedition finds living on Selva might very well be the worst thing humanity has ever dealt with.

At least He’s not on Fire
A tour of the things that escape my head
I’m an odd dude. But I write some decent stuff, and here’s my way of sharing my odd dude thoughts. I’m the author of three ‘major’ series; Adrian’s Undead Diary, Elmoryn’s The Kinless Trilogy, and the Reemergence Novels, the first of which is Tesser: A Dragon Among Us. To help folks get a taste of my writing, I’ve put At Least He’s Not On Fire together. Inside this wonderful electronic tome of my words, you’ll find a healthy sized sampler of each of my major works, as well as several short stories that are mixed in for your entertainment. All in, Hell Hole, and The Vampire of Menlo Park are all great fun, and I hope you enjoy them.
